DETAILED BIO
Vivinne has been a certified Kripalu yoga teacher for fourteen years. She owned Sattva Yoga & Wellness, in midtown Manhattan. During that time she was featured in Self, Yoga Journal, Heart & Soul and Essence magazines. She was a board member of the New York Yoga Teachers Association, and taught yoga at the Graduate Center of City University of N.Y & NY Sports Clubs. She studied macrobiotics and holistic health at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Her video for beginners–”Start with Yoga” was sold by a division of Book-of-the Month Club/Doubleday.
Meditation
Vivinne is currently enrolled in the “Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation Training” program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Currently she is teaches stress management, relaxation and mindfulness workshops at Onondaga Community College.
She has engaged in over four months of intensive silent, residential meditation programs. Some of her teachers include Myoshin Kelley and Joseph Goldstein. She has practiced under the guidance of Chanmay Sayadaw, Pa Auk Sayadaw and Sayadaw U Pandita, all are highly respected Burmese monks and meditation masters. The latter is the author of “In This Very Life.” Most of her practice in the Theravada Buddhist tradition takes place at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA.
Massage
After completing a 1,000 hour program in 2007 and passing the state exam Vivinne is now a New York state licensed massage therapist. This complements her additional training in shiatsu from at the International School of Shiatsu, in PA.
